Week 10: AdWords Policies

Hey guys!
So one last thing I want to address is Google policies. It is a very important topic and it addresses what is not allowed on AdWords. You can say just about anything on the Internet in the United States,  but Google has a few rules about what you can and can’t say to the world using AdWords.

A full list of rules and regulations can be found in the advertising policies section https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy. Google goes into detail about 23 of their policies. They are pretty understanding and Google has a reputation to live up to and having this list does restrict some users. AdWords enables businesses to promote a variety of products, services, apps and websites. Google just wants users to be safe with content that is on sites. Some of the content talked about on their policies section is prohibited content, practices, and restricted content. For example alcohol, games and gambling is under the restricted content. Everyone has rules and Google specifies throughout the support site what its rules are. Before you use AdWords you should check out the full policy so you are not overstepping your boundaries.
