Week 15: Career Counselors
Hey Everyone!
So we are finally at the end of this road and looking back this book has been one informative piece of information. I have gained so much knowledge from this book and reinforcement of what I already know as well. In this last section of the book we go through the process of choosing a career coach or counselor. The first thing is whether you need a career coach/ counselor. Some people need them and some don't so it really depends on you however they are willing to guide you in a direction you might know is there or might not know. So if you need one you need to pick one who is going to care and help you. There are people out there just seeking money from you and will tell you whatever you want to hear and there are some out there that don't know what they are doing. When you are selecting and searching for the right fit you will need to get that pen and paper out again and make a table of question you want to ask them and really get to know them and see what they are like.
If your really interested in having a coach to help you find a path or coach you though interviews or coming up with ideas on what you want to do and you can't afford it there are always options for hourly coaching. As far as distance the coaches can always talk on the phone and help you. If you need someone to lean on and you found the right person there are no buts. You can always find another way to fit them in your lifestyle.

Week 14: A Guide To Dealing With Your Feelings While Out Of Work
Hey guys!
We are coming to an end soon with this semester and this chapter goes through steps in order to cope with not having a job. This section has steps in order to deal with your feelings while you are out of a job. The first thing is to catch up on sleep. You can not function without sleep and you need to be able to enjoy life and being tired all the time is not going to help you. Another thing is staying physically fit and maintaining a balance diet with all of your food groups represented and making sure you ingest foods that are good for you.
Next is your physical surroundings and the way it looks represents how you view yourself. You want to have order in your life and being as neat and organized as possible will help you in the long run. Organization is key and what will set forth is even helping you obtain a job in the future. Another thing is talking about what your thinking and your concerns to a friend or a loved one. No need to keep everything all bottled up. After talking to one of your loved ones about everything comes the fun part, the punch bag or in my case the pillows. Its okay to let all that frustration out of your system. There is no need to keep it all in and doing this will help you in the long run by releasing all of that negative energy.
Lastly, and what I think is a great idea is to write down all the things that make us grateful, glad or even happy day by day. This brings us to focus on what precious gifts we still have. I never done this method before but I am a believer that reinforcement and being happy and knowing your doing a good job will bring you success. This was a great chapter and did help actually reading about the different things you can do while your out of a job.

See you guys in week 15! Which will be the last post!

Week 13: Finding Your Mission in Life
Hey guys!
Week 13 and we are on the blue pages in WCIYP and it discusses finding your calling/ mission. Everyone's intention in life is to be happy and enjoy what you are doing have peace with mind in soul. In order to this you need to be in the right place in your life and really understand who you are as a person. As this section of the book talks about the touchy subjust about whether there is a God or not, I would have to say that I am one of thoses quoted "feebleminded" individuals who do. I know that I am set out here to do something or to at least help people in some sort of way. The author of this book is Christan and he does talk a great deal of finding yourself and finding your calling in this part of the book. The section on finding your mission in life stood out to me the most. It states that your first mission you have on Earth is to share with the rest of the human race. Next you want to go through life step by step with Gods guidence.
Lastly you want to exercise your talents that you came down to Earth to use because you want to think that God set you in this earth and guides you everyday in life. However, the talents you have and what you are able to share is what will bring you closer to him and closer to your mission. I thought this was an interesting section and with as sensitive of a issue that religion is I did enjoy the authors thoughts on the issue.

Week 12: How to Start Your Own Business
Hey guys!
Its towards the end of the semester and we are wrapping up with WCIYP and this chapter was about starting your own business. This talked about If you feel you don't want to work for someone and want to be your own boss. The part that caught my attention is when you have no idea what business you want to go into. I have had the struggle for years figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. When I read chapter 7 it went through the process to really understand who you are. I got a piece of paper and jotted down qualities I owned and stories that related to me. I wanted to make sure I knew who I was first and then what I really enjoyed doing. I am an individual that needs order in my life and being as organized in the work place is what I strive for. I went on to write down my skills and so on. The next step is to read and gain all of the knowledge you can acquire and there are a number of sites to help people start up businesses. Exploring is crucial and you want to make sure you interview people who have done a similar start up so you don't fall flat from failure.
Overall, I know after college I am definitely going to want to work with someone just so I can gain so much knowledge and really understand a business. I can read all I want about how to start up a business but actually doing it is another story. However this chapter did help me realize that it could be an option for myself in the future.
