Hey Everyone!
So in this week we read some articles on where the consumption of our time goes. As I can relate a lot to these article because I do too spend a great deal of time on social media especially on Facebook. I think to myself why is it so time consuming to be on these sites? Why is it the first 10 minutes of my day is checking my phone?
The first article that I read was Smartphone Users Use Facebook 14 times A Day, Study Says. The company went and surveyed apple and android users and more than 7,000 men and women between 18-44 spent 2-2 and 1/2 hours on their phones daily. Email being number one and Facebook tailing second. 70% of the group accessed Facebook from the phone and 44% use it as an alarm clock. In fact I always use my phone as an alarm clock and always access everything on my phone like email, Facebook, and other types of social media. As strange as it is our phones are essential to life. We rely on our phones to wake us up to get us to work on time, we use it to get directions when we are lost. We use them to call our loved ones and texts our friends when we are away from them. As much as you may want to say you don't use your phone all the time you might use it the most. Social media is everywhere and you can not escape it.
Now for the second article that I read was Infographic: How Often Should You Post On Social Media? See The Most Popular Research and Tips. Below is an image of when should you post to social media. The first image states you should post to Pinterest 5 times a day. It also says the top brands experience rapid growth when you take the time to post multiple times a day. The next type of media talked about is Twitter and you shouldn't post more than 3 times a day because you start to loose engagement after the 3rd tweet. Next is Google, no less than 3 posts a day because its been recorded that 50% of traffic is lost when you post less than usual. Lastly, Facebook users should post twice a day. You likes and comments start to drop off throughout the day so send your last one later on in the day. The article also talks about other types of social medias but these are the top sites.
The articles were really interesting and were good to reference when knowing how many times to post and the most used types of sites phone users use. Just try to remember a time you weren't on your phone or next to it...
